Chinese relevant standards for flame retardant clothing

 

 

 

The main purpose of flame-retardant clothing is flame retardant protection. Its protection principle mainly adopts shielding effects such as insulation, reflection, absorption, and carbonization isolation. Flame retardant clothing protects workers from harm caused by open flames or heat sources. It can be widely used in work environments with special requirements for clothing, such as oil fields, metallurgy, welding, machinery, fire protection, etc.

 

 

 

Classification of flame-retardant clothing: flame-retardant pure cotton protective clothing, flame-retardant synthetic fiber protective clothing, high-temperature and flame-retardant protective clothing, flame-retardant aluminum film cotton cloth protective clothing, thermal insulation protective clothing, etc., should be selected and equipped according to the needs of specific working environments.

 

 

 

Fabric characteristics

 

 

 

1. The fabric is made of flame-resistant fibers, which can be used in hazardous situations such as high heat, flames, and arcs. It will not melt, burn, or melt droplets at high temperatures

 

 

 

2. Adding P140 carbon core fibers to enhance the anti-static ability of the fabric

 

 

 

3. All fabrics are treated with fluorocarbon compounds to achieve waterproofing, oil resistance, and easy removal of stains. Alternatively, hydrophilic treatment can be used to increase water vapor evaporation and improve wearing comfort in hot climates

 

 

 

4. Protective fabrics, whether washed with water (or commercially), do not reduce their protective performance and have good structural stability

 

 

 

5. Acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, high strength, friction resistance, with a service life exceeding 6 times that of ordinary uniforms or cotton uniforms that have undergone protective treatment

 

 

 

6. Good breathability, light weight, soft and comfortable

 

 

 

Testing items and indicators

 

 

 

1. Thermal protection coefficient, divided into A level, B level, and C level

 

 

 

2. Flame retardancy: A level ≤ 2s, B level ≤ 2s, C level ≤ 5s; Smoldering time A ≤ 2s, B ≤ 2s, C ≤ 5s; Damage length: A-grade ≤ 50mm, B-grade ≤ 100mm, C-grade ≤ 150mm; No melting or dripping.

 

 

 

3. Breaking strength: ≥ 450N before washing, ≥ 400N after washing

 

 

 

4. Tear strength: ≥ 25N before washing

 

 

 

5. Moisture permeability: ≥ 6000g/(m2 · 24h)

 

 

 

6. Bending length: ≤ 3c

 

 

 

7. Size change rate after washing+2.5%~-2.5%

 

 

 

8. Formaldehyde content less than 300PPM

 

 

 

Storage and transportation conditions

 

 

 

1. It is prohibited to change clothes in places with open flames, sparks, molten metal, or flammable and explosive materials.

 

 

 

2. It is prohibited to attach or wear any fusible or flammable objects on flame-retardant clothing.

 

 

 

3. When wearing flame-retardant clothing, corresponding protective equipment must be worn to fully achieve the technical effect.

 

 

 

4. Clothes should not be placed together with corrosive substances. The storage area should be dry and ventilated, at least 20cm away from the strong surface and ground, to prevent rodent bites, insect infestation, and mold.

 

 

 

5. Do not damage the packaging during transportation to prevent exposure to sunlight and rain.

 

 

 

6. The storage period is two years.
