How to distinguish whether work clothes are anti-static?

Method for judging the fabric of anti-static work clothes

Measurement of warp and weft density: Use a warp and weft density mirror to measure the warp and weft density of fabrics and compare them.

Resistance measurement: Use a surface resistance tester to measure the warp and weft resistance of fabrics and compare them.

The principle of comparison is to choose the one with lower resistance; If the resistance is the same, choose a stable resistance value.

Pay attention to whether anti-static finishing agents are added to the fabric (suitable for adding conductive fibers in the warp direction, commonly known as striped fabric). The method is to measure the resistance in the warp and weft directions using a surface resistance tester. If they are the same, it indicates that an anti-static finishing agent has been added, and the measured resistance does not represent the true level.

Looking at microstructure: Use a high-power magnifying glass to examine the quality of the fabric, compare the gap size between fibers (related to dust filtration rate), check if there are any attachments on the fiber surface (related to dust emission), check if the fiber arrangement is neat, and if the tightness is consistent (if the tightness is not consistent, some loose fibers are prone to wear during washing, and later wear will emit dust).

Check conductive fibers: Conductive fibers are the key raw materials for anti-static and ultra clean fabrics. Checking conductive fibers is to see if conductive fibers are added according to specifications and what kind of conductive fibers are added.

Inspection method: Carefully cut the fabric along the edge of the black conductive fiber with scissors, separate the black conductive fiber, observe whether there is one or several thicker fibers with a magnifying glass, and measure the resistance of the separated conductive fiber with a surface resistance tester. After removing several pieces continuously, it is basically possible to determine whether each black filament in the fabric contains conductive fibers. The conductive wire is made of carbon organic conductive fibers, black or gray, generally around 20D, between 1f and 6f. In order to meet the strength requirements in weaving, a regular black or white synthetic fiber is needed.

Comparison of Fabric Process Parameters: Suppliers are required to provide basic parameters of the fabric, such as yarn fineness (D, F), warp and weft density, fabric organization, finished product width, dyeing shrinkage rate, and type of conductive fiber used, and then compare to see if they match.
